Privacy: Browser Data and Emails

What Your Browser Stores

The calculators run in your browser. Saving a Pool Card stores its volume, shape, dimensions and the pool attributes you provide in browser local storage. The site also stores checklist progress, dismissals and a random analytics visitor ID there. The code sets no automatic expiration for these items. Use the Pool Card Clear control to clear the card, or your browser settings to remove all site storage. When storage is blocked, the site keeps temporary data in the current tab.

Events Sent from Your Browser

Interaction events go to /api/events with a persistent random visitor ID, the page origin and path, and details such as the calculator name, input count or selected option. The page URL excludes query strings and fragments. The ID can connect visits from the same browser, so these events are not anonymous aggregate counts. The server forwards events to PostHog when an analytics key is configured; otherwise it discards them. The hosting provider receives ordinary request data, including network addresses, and may keep request logs.

When You Request an Email

The email form sends your address, calculator name, displayed result, and requested timing and purpose to /api/subscribe. When delivery is configured, Resend receives the details needed to send the requested reminder or immediate saved result. Each request is for one email; it does not enroll you in a newsletter or marketing list. The endpoint temporarily uses your request’s IP address to limit submissions. It does not save them to a site database. If delivery is unavailable, the form shows an error.

How Long Data Stays

Stored browser data stays until you clear it. Rate-limit records live in server memory and disappear when that server process restarts. The application sets no deletion period for hosting logs, PostHog events or Resend delivery records. Their retention settings need to be confirmed with the operator; no deletion deadline is promised here. You can skip the email form. Local calendar downloads do not need your email address.

Data at Retailer Sites

Some product links carry an affiliate tag. When you follow a link, the retailer’s privacy and cookie policies apply on its site. It may connect a purchase to that referral, and we may earn a commission. Read the affiliate disclosure.
